Maquettes by Bard sculpture studios (2014) for the production of How to train your dragon (2010) of the main character ‘Hiccup concept’ (right) and ‘Early toothless’ (bottom left)
These
sculpts are done by Damon Bard, they are in simple character style, possibly
made with an air drying clay which you can then paint. They fit the purpose
which they were made to be for which is character development of hiccup for
film they were for. It resembles the final design character that you see in theDamon
Bard maquettes are quite detailed but simple. They shows the personality of the
character clearly which is what makes them good and interesting.
Bards
maquettes are of an inspiration for me as they are how I want my final made and detailed maquette to look, not so much the style
but more of how it portrays the character clearly you can see the personality
and characteristic in all 3 of these models clearly. You can also get what kind
of character they are just from looking at the maquette.
